HIKING - ROUTE 3 NORTH - PLAYA DE LAS CONCHAS-MAJAPALOMAS-PEDRO BARBA
Description of the activity
-------------------------------------------------------- SELF-GUIDED / FREE ------------------------------------------------------------- This circular route allows to cover the northern part of the island around clockwise and Bermeja mountain to return to Caleta del Sebo along its eastern coast. This walk passes through two of the most unique beaches of La Graciosa, shells (in the form of variant path) and amber. Other two variants allow you to go to the basalt of the falls of the Majapalomas arc and the nucleus of Pedro Barba.
More information
It begins in Caleta del Sebo, taking the track that leads to the plain of la Mareta, between El Mojon and clockwise. From the intersection of La Mareta are examples of use of the land for crops and wells. On the plain is you should get off, turning slightly to the right making a soft that until you reach the intersection with an old track that is taken to the left to skirt the needles in just 150 meters. The path ascends to a nearly straight path, leaving this volcanic edifice on the right. After a brief rise of 1 km, the road down towards the plain of the lower livestock. This descent offers a unique view of Bermeja mountains and the islands of Montaña Clara, Alegranza, Roque de el Oeste. Without taking the road that goes left and leads to the nose of the Estribas, continue along the track leading up to the lower of the cattle. The track continues towards the Bermeja mountain until you find a crossroads. At this point was born variant towards las Conchas Beach, incredible beach where extreme caution by the strong currents and the terrain. The main route continues from the intersection of the variant to the shells to the right, the track that enters the island and leaves Bermeja mountain on the left. The layout is virtually straight until you come back to the sea, very near already amber beach. At the crossroads of Majapalomas was created a path to the left, not allowed to bicycles, carrying by the variant in just 300 meters to the Arc de Majapalomas, which is not allowed climb by the risk of collapse. The main route turns a 90º right and arrives in almost 200 metres to the beach of amber. The trail follows the beach to its extreme East, where other 90 ° turn right. Along 1.5 km it follows a line roughly North / South until you reach the junction that allows you to take the variant to Pedro Barba or continue towards Caleta del Sebo. The main route take the junction towardsright, rapidly gaining height in a strong, although brief ascent towards the hills of Pedro Barba and clockwise. In little more than 3.5 miles returns to the plain of La Mareta, where you can closely observe the tank of watering holes. Past this point again take the path on the left, which is why began the route, and down to Caleta del Sebo, offering a unique view with the Famara cliffs in the background. The variant to Pedro Barba allows, in little more thana mile, visit this nucleus of population, although no services available for visitors, offered a unique stamp. From the intersection of the track that leads to La Mareta, take the road left that drop to the sea, passing the remains of the ancient shelters used as stores.
