ACTIVITY SELECTED: GUIDED VISIT TO THE MANCHA BLANCA VISITOR CENTER, EXCLUSIVELY FOR TEACHING CENTERS AND GROUPS OF THE ELDERLY

Description of the activity

WARNING: The Governing Council of the Canary Islands has agreed this Thursday that the island of Lanzarote, including La Graciosa, will rise to alert level 4 starting at 00:00 this Saturday (January 23rd, 2021) due to the "seriousness" of cases of Coronavirus on the island, and especially because of the "speed" in the transmission of infections.

 


Therefore, to ensure the safety of users and employees, I inform you that for this reason, ALL WALKING TRAIL SERVICES INSIDE TIMANFAYA NATIONAL PARK HAVE BEEN CANCELLED, until further notice. Mind the inconveniences.

Half submerged in a sea of lava and close to Timanfaya’s National Park, Mancha Blanca Visiting and Interpreting Centre is a welcome centre that provides information and develops interpretative activities for all the visitors to the Park. With a surface of 2,293 square meters, the Centre spreads across the main building and other adjacent structures, giving tourists the opportunity to appreciate the natural resources of the Park. The visit can be done by free or asking for a guided visit.

Attending to last Instructions about Contingency Plan to reduce the risk against the SARS - COV-2 in the Timanfaya National Park, we´d like to inform you about the visiting conditions:

 

  • The maximum capacity is reduce to 50%, up to 200 visitors at the same time, guaranteeing the distance between other visitors 1,5m.

  • At the Information´s desk the distance 1,5m from the public to personal Staff will be maintained. Temperature will be taken from the visitors at the Center´s entrance.

  • A disinfectant carpet is located on the entrance floor and a hydroalcoholic gel dispenser will be available at the Information´s desk.

  • No leaflets or any written material will be offered to visitors due to sanitary reasons. They will be replaced for QR codes to download information.

  • Visitors will keep the mask on during all their visit.

  • The visiting way will be in only one direction, so a line in between will be set to keep one way for entrance and one way to exit. Visitors coming in groups will keep together keeping the distance from other groups or visitors.

  • Audiovisual program: The capacity of the audiovisual hall will be reduce to 60% (60 persons), accommodating visitors keeping the distance between seats.

  • Volcanic Simulation: The capacity on the underground floor for the volcanic simulation will be reduce up to 10 persons.

Exhibition room The Permanent Exhibition of Mancha Blanca Visitors Centre is a must-see for those who want to have a thorough knowledge of the volcanic phenomena of Timanfaya. The exhibition occupies various rooms, each equipped with different interpretative resources such as backlit panels, miniatures, interactive screens, etc. that in a simple and clear way prepare visitors for the visit to the Park.
